Elected councillors keep mum.

1/3 rd of Chennai Councillors keep mum in the House. Three years ago, Chennai public elected their ward members. TOI reveals that atleast 4 councillors, including 13 from the DMK and one from PMK never spoken in the council about the problem faced by the public. 39 councillors have not raised any single query during question hour. 42 members not uttered a word during zero hour and 51 remained silent when resolutions wre discussed. - The Hindu
Armstrong said he has been taking up civic problems of the ward with the local officials. He alleged that civic body failed to utilise the sum allotted to him under the local area development (LAD) works. For the current fiscal, he has funds to the tune of Rs 25 lakh for welfare works. "The financial year is coming to an end, but no funds have been utilised so far," Armstrong said.
